●Festival for the Physically Challenged●Cleanup Activities in Local Communities●Futsal Tournament●Our Journey with the Residents of the Local RegionIn 1953, the Prova Group was founded and began with the pachinko hall called Hikari Kaikan, taking advantage of a nationwide boom at that time. In 1963, the Hikari Department Store Co., Ltd. was established marking our entry into the supermarket business. This was the beginning of the Prova Group. After that, we once again started with pachinko hall management. Since then, we have expanded into various businesses such as games, sports, eating and drinking establishments based under the main theme of “amusement” which brings us to where we are today.Amusement brings vitality to peopleʼs lives. With all the things that one is forced to do in oneʼs life, a personʼs life engine can be pushed to the point of breakdown. By injecting a small amount of amusement and play into oneʼs life this life engine can start again. Everybody loves to have fun. We believe in the power that amusement can have in oneʼs life, and endeavor to become a company to nourish the beleaguered souls of hard-working people everywhere. In retrospect, the history of the Prova Group is a history of overcoming challenges. We have repeatedly and quickly made management decisions in the business world by challenging, advancing, and pulling back without fear by using all our resources to look at the needs of the times and reacting to those needs. There have been many tough times in the past, but we have always redoubled our course and forged on, challenging whatever may come without ever hanging our heads in defeat. We made a very important discovery in our journey through numerous challenges. We discovered that it is our mission to deliver fun times, a comfortable space, and excitement to our customers. And, this mission is fulfilled by the hospitality we deliver to our customers created by the ideas and sensitivity of each and every staff member. These are the vital elements that the Prova Group must not lose sight of in order to survive, develop, and continue on.We want to bring happiness to everyone involved with the Prova Group. Saying, “doing something for somebody” is an easy thing to do, and may come across as a cliché, but we always talk about “happiness” seriously and do our utmost to help people realize it.It is people who bring happiness to other people. If you think seriously about others, you should be able to find answers to any difficult problem. We are thoroughly committed to educating and raising staff members to become people who are “sincere about otherʼs needs”, because they are the true lifeʼs blood of this company. In addition to improving and furthering our existing services, we also proactively engage in new businesses. We are very excited about what challenges await us in 10, 50, or even 100 years. No matter what challenges the Prova Group undertakes in the future we value the lessons learned on our journey to date and firmly accept our mission of putting smiles on peopleʼs faces. The Prova Groupʼs journey of challenges will continue on unabated. It would be impossible to conduct our business without an understanding of the local region. We thank you for your support and cooperation which make it possible for us to continue our activities in each region. We continue to implement various initiatives in these regions, because we hope to become a force within the region, no matter how small. We hope new ways of having fun, as well as vitality, are brought to familiar towns through their involvement with the Prova Group, and this will lead to one more smile in the community. With this objective in mind, we will endeavor on with continuing development and pursue a richer life together with all the members of the community.Starting in 1996, we have annually held the Prova Cup Futsal Tournament. Many people have come to know of the Prova Group because of this tournament, which is now grown into one of the largest in the Chugoku region. The competitors who participate in this tournament vary, from serious players who practice a lot to those with small children who come with their families. However, this sport is a great way for everyone to meet and mingle together. The Prova Group endeavors to help create “smiles” in nursing care welfare through amusement, and has concluded a joint research agreement on the prevention of long-term care using amusement equipment with the Hiroshima University and the Prefectural University of Hiroshima. In Italian, “Prova” means to take on a challenge. We are engaged in support activities for the independence of physically challenged individuals through pachinko, bowling, karaoke, games, and many others. We will continue to boldly take on challenges, and work towards a more vigorous future by thinking seriously about amusement which is the wellspring of happiness in people. We conduct periodic cleaning activities mainly in the areas around our facilities. We conduct these activities in the spirit that we are indebted to everyone in the surrounding area. With a focus on the NPO Forza Prova, all members of the company take part from the president and the executives to the regular company employees.Social Contribution ActivitiesSeeing the smiles of our customers is our reward, and developments in the local community lead to our future path. Our gratitude to everyone is the driving force of the Prova Group.
